Women

Our mission is to be an outreach and a way of ministering to and facilitating growth for the women of our church as well as our community. The Women’s Ministry at Langston Baptist Church meets the fourth Tuesday of each month. We believe in creating an environment in which a “Proverbs 31” woman can grow in the grace and knowledge of our Savior, Jesus Christ. We come together to share, fellowship, and learn more about God’s Word.  We participate in service projects that benefit members of our community.

Some of the mission projects we have been a part of include:

  • Care baskets for students going away to college
  • Care baskets for teachers in the local schools
  • Care baskets for Prison Ministry
  • Collecting Money for students who have committed to serve as missionaries
  • Making wreaths for patients at the local nursing homes and delivering them to the patients
  • Baby shower for a local Christian adoption service (Bethany Christian Services)

We also have an annual retreat in Myrtle Beach, SC, during the winter. We spend two days away from all of the hustle and bustle of our normal lives and really focus on getting closer to God.  We look forward to being filled with the Spirit and experiencing a renewal in our souls as we worship through song and the sharing of God’s Word.  Every year we are blessed to have special speakers and singers who share with us.  One year, we had workshops to help identify our own spiritual gifts which in turn helped give us a better understanding of where our strengths and weaknesses are so we could make better use of our gifts and talents in the furtherance of God’s Kingdom.

We also have an annual Women's Conference in the fall which is held at the church.  We have one session on Friday evening and 2 on Saturday.

Our ministry is not limited to just our church but welcomes all women of the community. We have a wonderful time in Women’s Ministry.

Meetings are held every 4th Monday at 7:00pm (some exceptions).  Please make plans to join us at our next monthly meeting.
